March 7, 1942 - August 5, 2021
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Beverly ("Nonie") Fisk, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer.
Nonie, as she was known to most, was born and raised in Powell River before moving to Duncan with husband Cecil shortly after the birth of son Kevin. Soon after arriving, daughter Caren was born where she made Duncan her home and raised her family.
She was an avid curler for many years where Brier, Scotties and Worlds were weeklong affairs of attention.
A true giver, she always placed others before herself. Volunteering and caring for others were natural and she spent many years as a member of the hospital auxiliary. However, what meant most to her was family. Especially her grandchildren.
She could set a table like no other and loved nothing more than welcoming and having family in her home. The kitchen was her place of comfort, and she strived to make everyone else comfortable. You never left hungry and there were always plenty of 'care packages' to go home with.
Left to mourn are husband Cecil of almost 60 years, sister Bea (Clive), son Kevin (Dana), and daughter Caren (Will) along with grandchildren; Steven, Drew, Kirstin, Quintin as well as step-grandchildren Alecia and Naomi.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. In lieu of memoriam and service, the family would like you to consider gathering your family and sharing a dinner.
