It is with great sorrow that we announce our beloved mother passed away at home surrounded by her family, October 23, 2019, aged 84. Brenda is survived by her three daughters, Tracy (Matthew) Ford, Melanie Higgs (Andreas Berglund), and Jessica (Michael) Kelley. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Cindy, Eileen, Gwendolyn, Meredyth, Liam and Fiona, and two great-grand-daughters, Madeline and Evelyn.
Brenda was born in Pontypridd, Wales, but spent her childhood and young adult years in Bristol, England. She emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1954. In 1956 she "won her wings" and became a stewardess for Canadian Pacific Airlines, flying throughout British Columbia and the Yukon Territories. She married Michael Higgs, a pilot for Canadian Pacific Airlines, and together raised their three daughters in Vancouver.
She moved to Duncan, Vancouver Island in 1995 where she met and married her second husband, Peter Page, who predeceased her by five years.
Brenda had a wonderful life, full of travel, friends, and family. She was a devoted mother and homemaker whose decorating talents and legendary dinner parties are remembered by all who had the good fortune to sit at her table. Brenda was known for her unique fashion style, and her elegant flair never failed to impress. Later in life, Brenda discovered another outlet for her creative talents through sculpture, and the work she left behind will be treasured by her family.
