Carl David Gronlund

March 26, 1934 - February 22, 2020
Dave Gronlund of Chemainus, beloved husband of Joyce for 63 years, passed away peacefully at the Cowichan Lodge on February 22, 2020 at the age of 85 years with Joyce at his side. He was the loving dad of children: Dorothy Douglas, Cindy (Dennis) Popplestone, Jerry Gronlund. Grandpa or Papa will be dearly missed by his nine grandchildren: Carl (Shannon), Shawn (Vera), Jared, Michael & Melinda (Keenan) Douglas; Tyler (Kelsey) & Tanya Popplestone; Ryan & Matthew Gronlund. GG will be missed by his five great grandchildren: Dawson (Amelia), Kloey, Marcus, Calvin and CJ Douglas. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers: Cliff (Betty) & Fred (Carolyn) and his sister Karen. He was predeceased by his sisters: Eleanor & Gay. He loved his family dearly but especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Born in Peace River, AB, Dave worked in the pulp and paper industry for most of his adult life. He married Joyce in Nanaimo and together they moved to Chemainus. Dave had a hobby farm which he loved and was greatly involved with the 4H, PNE and the Cowichan Exhibition for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Chemainus United Church, 9814 Willow Street, Chemainus, BC. Condolences may be offered online at www.sandsduncan.ca.
