Carl Mellings

November 18, 1960 - October 4, 2021
In loving memory ~ Carl Mellings, born in Nanaimo, BC on November 18,1960 to Albert and Jean Mellings, peacefully passed away on Oct 4, 2021 with his loving wife and son by his side.
Carl married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Rhonda in January 1979 and went on to have two wonderful boys, David and Jason.
Carl started his career as a logger in the early 80's and changed careers and went on to become a well respected plumber founding his own company in 1999, Carl Mellings Plumbing Ltd.
Carl moved his family to the Sahtlam Tree Farm in 1994 and added an additional family member, Bob Russell. Carl was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman but he was a family man first and foremost. You could always find him busy in his shop, out falling trees, in his excavator on the property or on the tree farm with a project or two on the go. Carl took immense pride and care in everything he did and he did everything with Rhonda by his side.
Carl will be fondly remembered laughing and joking around a campfire either at home or in Port Renfrew surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends cooking smokies and pepperoni with a rum and coke in hand. Carl was larger than life and all that knew him, loved him. Extraordinary love comes with extraordinary grief - you cannot have one without the other and to that he would say "Tight lines".
Carl is predeceased by his parents and will be deeply missed by those that survived him, his wife Rhonda, his sons David (Leslie), and Jason (Tonya), his grandchildren Wyatt (Sarah-mom), Maegan, Ryan, Ethan (Tracey-mom ), Chelsea and Megan, his brothers Eric (Ricky, Bob, Connie, Stormy) and Brian (Ryan, Greg, Stephanie) his sister Theresa (Gary) ( Sandra, Chris), his long time family friend, Bob Russell and all of his numerous nephews, nieces, brother and sister in-laws and friends.
A celebration of life will be held outdoors at the Sahtlam Tree Farm on October 30th from 1 - 4 pm. 4901 Conifer Way, Duncan BC
