It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn on January 4, 2017 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. Carolyn is predeceased by her sister Merilyn Boudot 1979, father James Houston 1995, and mother Jean Houston 2003. She will be sorely missed by her husband Larry, daughter Lynda Dyke (Jim), sons James and Danny Banfield, grandchildren Shawn Dyke (Cassie), Jeannine Britz (Reinhart) and Lanna Dyke (Will), great granddaughter Charlotte Dyke and her sibling due very soon. Also missed by niece Sheri Franklin (Gerald), nephews Randy Boudot (Darlene) and Ricky Boudot (Tanya), great nieces and nephew Lindsey Carlton, Joe Delorme and Katie Delorme and their families.

Carolyn was born and raised in Ladysmith moving to Victoria in 1966. She worked for many years as a Practical Nurse at Mount Saint Mary’s. Later she worked for Harmony House until her retirement.

Carolyn loved animals from her cats and dogs to the raccoons and everything in between. She had a green thumb and loved her garden and hanging plants. She was involved in the breeding and racing of Standardbreds horses in Victoria and Vancouver and partnered with her mentor and good friend Herb Boggs.

The family would like to thank the BC Cancer Society and Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care during her battle. Also Shirley Hedgecoe thank-you for being a wonderful friend to Carolyn. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Carolyn, Mum, Nanny we will miss you. You fought hard now it’s time to rest.

At her request there will be no service but we will have a gathering at the home of Lynda Dyke in Chemainus at a later date.
