October 6, 1931 - March 31, 2018
Charles Peter Stafford, aged 86, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Cowichan District Hospital. Born October 6th, 1932 to Alfred and Mary Stafford (nee Harnden) at Endon, Staffordshire, England. He was the second of three children and is survived by his sisters, Patricia in England and Anne in Ontario.
Peter immigrated to Canada in 1956 to advance in his work as a draughtsman with Chubb, Mosler and Taylor Safes company in Toronto, Ontario. There he met and married Henricia (Ricki) Soublieres, with whom he had two children, Jennifer and Christopher. The family moved to Vancouver Island in 1973. Peter was left a widower in 1981.
Peter made new marriage vows in 1984 when he married Elizabeth Armstrong Robb, nee Maitland, whom he met in Victoria, BC. She has two sons from a previous marriage, Kenneth and Derek Robb. Peter was Grampa to five grandchildren; Lauren Robb, Rachel and Robin Ayearst, Jessica and Devon Stafford.
There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
