Christopher George Edward Baal

Chris died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Shawnigan Lake. We are all going to miss his big smile and kind heart. He was born in Comox and in spite of any limitations he had, he always took pride in working hard to support himself and his wife of 28 years, Alice. Over the last 4.5 years, he and Alice grew the Cobble Hill taxi company into a thriving business.
Chris enjoyed his childhood at the farm in Courtenay and at the family summer house in Kye Bay. He went to high school in Victoria and started his taxi career with Bluebird cabs. He was always ready to work and willing to go the extra mile for his clients.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Vivian Baal and his older sister Eroca (Ann) Shaler. He is survived by his wife Alice, his son Jerrod, his two brothers, Paul and Stephen and his sister, Trudy along with Alice's two children, Jennifer and Andy.
A Celebration of Chris's Life will be held on July 5, 2022 at the Cobblestone Pub at 3566 Holland Avenue, Cobble Hill, BC at 1 pm.
We will be suspending Cobble Hill Taxi Service for the day on July 5th out of respect for Chris.
