It is with a great sadness that I have to share that my youngest son, Christopher Michael Lea, has passed away. The RCMP informed us this evening that he died about 3 PM on 24th of September. He was born in Nanaimo Feb 18 1989. He lead a painful life after the death of his father, using drugs to deal with his pain. He died of an drug overdose of fentanyl. He is survived by his infant daughter Kiera Litke Lea, Vancouver, His mother Patty-Anne Lea Victoria, His brothers, Ewan Lea, Victoria, Graeme Cumpstone, (Alaina) Australia, Duncan Lea Smithers, Cameron Lea (De-anna) Fort St John, nieces and nephews Saxon and Aurora Lea, Caitlin and Gabby Lea, Aiden, Nathania and Alexis Cumpstone. Also Aunts and Uncles and Cousins. Many friends in FSJ, Victoria, Ladysmith and Duncan. He also has a biological mother Rae (Paul) Barton in LeDuc. He was predeceased by his father Frank James Lea and special Uncle Benny Low. Amongst his many accomplishments, he was a 5 star cub. He won gold medals for area, district and region for Track and Field. He was on the biathlon team with 744 Cowichan Air Cadet Squadron, and was an avidˆ fisherman. He was a welder by trade. He was a gentle soul who somehow was broken. Now I give him to the Master Craftsman to mend him. He will not hurt, go cold or hungry or be afraid again. He will be loved forever in my heart.
