Dale passed away in Victoria, BC on April 1, 2020 at the age of 66 years, after courageous battle with ongoing health issues. Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years Shawn, his three kids Cory (Gwen), Kelly and Stacey, his seven grandchildren, his father Harold and siblings Kim, Lori, Karen, Marleen and Barry. He was predeceased by his mom Jeanne, his sister Rhonda and brother Johnny.
Dale was born in Duncan and was a lifelong resident of the Cowichan Valley. He served for many years as a volunteer firefighter first with the Mill Bay Fire Department and then with the Shawnigan Lake Fire Department. He spent his working life with the Crofton Pulp Mill. He was also a volunteer with Duncan Victim Services. Dale was most passionate about sports and hockey in particular.
He had been active at the Shawnigan Alliance Church and organized father/son breakfasts, often bringing in special guests from professional sports teams to speak. Dale was a kind hearted individual who was always there for anyone who needed him.
A Memorial Service and interment of the urn to take place in Shawnigan Lake at a later date.
