August 14, 1931 - February 21, 2019
David passed away after a short stay at the Chemainus Health Care Centre Hospice. He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and at the age of twenty one, travelled to India where he spent 16 years building his career in the tea industry. He and Margaret had their two sons in Darjeeling before returning to Scotland.

In 1967 the decision was made to immigrate to Canada. The family moved to their home on Maple Bay Road in Duncan, where David lived until his final days.

David found employment at the Chemainus Sawmill. Between family, work and hobbies, he always had a home renovation or gardening project on the go. He was in his element reading his various newspapers and books, listening to CBC Radio and riding his bicycle around Quamichan Lake.

Dad was a kind soul and will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Margaret, sons Dave (Gabi), Stuart and grandchildren Tilo, Niall, Emma, Sean, Aidan. He also leaves behind his sisters Margaret and Ann and other relatives in Scotland.

David's family is grateful and appreciative for the conscientious and caring support from the Home Support nurses, as well as the hospice team at Chemainus Health Care Centre. The kindness of special friends and neighbours helped immensely.

There will be a family gathering in his honour.
