Dave died peacefully in hospital with his family at his side. Left to remember him with full hearts are his wife Megan and his children Alia and Jack, of whom he was extremely proud.

Dave is also survived by his parents Hugh and Joyce Saben, as well as his siblings Lyn, Brent, Doug, Shelley, Peter and Jennifer and their families, along with many extended family members and friends.

Most fulfilling to Dave of his several occupations was his career as a professional cook, which began after he graduated from the Malaspina College Culinary Program with honors and received his Red Seal qualification. He had many wonderful memories of family trips and parties, motorcycling with his riding buddies and enjoying the outdoors.

We are most grateful to the many health care professionals and staff who were of so much help to Dave, at the Vancouver and Victoria Cancer Clinics, Cowichan District Hospital, Chemainus Medical Clinic, Dr. Gisela Wenzel-Smith and especially Dr. Tanis Morris.
