In Loving Memory ~
Don Robinson, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday April 17th.
Don was born January 2nd, 1940 to Helena VanDusen and David Robinson. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Robinson, and his children: Lee Robinson, Terri Robinson, and Tammy Gatrell.
Don was a community hub who meaningfully touched on the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him, be it his extended family, his grandchildren whom he adored, or the shopkeepers at the local pharmacy.
Don spent his early years farming, hunting and fishing in Elbow Valley Alberta, where he developed a deep connection to the land. At the young age of 16, he left home and joined the Navy with which he spent the majority of his young life travelling the world. During this time he met and married his wife Joyce whom he spent the rest of his life with.
Don settled in Penticton where he and Joyce started their family, moving to Vancouver Island later in life. Using his skills from the Navy, Don operated a marina in Cowichan Bay and served his community on the CVRD board of directors. For many years you could find Don patrolling the docks and watching over his grandchildren as they grew and played there.
Don spent his final years in the community of Crofton where he could often be found walking the boardwalk, watching the ducks and enjoying the sea breeze.
Don will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
