In loving memory ~
With heavy hearts we share the passing of Dona Smith in April of 2025. She passed peacefully, joining her partner of many years, Doug Belton.
Dona was known for her warm heart and a laugh that could fill a room. She found joy and humour in the everyday and brought lightness to those around her in her own easy, natural way.
A proud mother, Dona leaves behind her three sons: Rob (Tara), Richard, and Russell (Tanya), along with her beloved grandsons, Jackson and Hugh. She is also fondly remembered by Doug's children and family, who became an extended part of her life over the years. She is survived by her sister Adele, and nieces Kaitlyn and Laura.
She spent her life working in the hospitality industry, owning pubs in both Crofton and Youbou. She was hardworking by nature—rarely one to slow down—and stayed busy well into later life. When she did retire, she embraced sunny getaways with Doug, always happiest near the beach.
At home, Dona loved working in her garden, sharing stories over tea with her close circle of friends, and spending time with her cousins - a bond especially cherished through her special relationship with her Aunt Betty.
Dona's life was full of laughter, love, and a certain gentle chaos that made her uniquely her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
