Donald Duffin

January 26, 1931 – March 30, 2021
Our dear father, husband, grandfather and friend passed away March 30th leaving a cavern in our family and community.
Your intelligence, integrity and tenacity speaks to who you are in all your life long endeavours. Dad you tirelessly fought for human rights, freedoms and justice for all working people. Your passion for meaningful social change never died, and will live on in our hearts and dreams. You are a legend Dad.
Born in Greenwich, England January 26th,1931, he endured air raid bombings and evacuations, shaping his ideals of what a better world could be coming to Canada in 1949, to meet his beautiful wife Ida of 68 years and raising 5 children…Sandy (Cindy), Ted (Linda), Kathy (Ken), Linda, Tom (Donna), many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dad worked hard farming, brick and stone mason, Seaman. He was instrumental in forming the B.C. Ferries Union. He worked for many years for the DFO research ship. His fabulous stories, and his glowing smile will be missed but not forgotten.
