November 30, 1929 - April 11, 2022
Donna Craig, passed away peacefully, on April 11, 2022, in her 92nd year, surrounded by family.
She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on November 30, 1929, daughter of Francis Xaiver Jobin, and Mary Bernice Jobin. Donna married the love of her life, Bud Craig, in 1952, and she was a devoted mother, to four children, Anita (John), Daniel (Susan), Claire (Robert), Wesley (Roselyn). Cherished grandmother to five grandchildren, Wesley (Emma), Connor (Giselle), Jarrod (Sabrina), Miles (Carley), Devin. Donna was predeceased, by her beloved husband, Bud.
She graduated from the St. Boniface Hospital, nursing program, in Winnipeg, and spent her career, caring for others, as a registered nurse. It was a calling, she cared deeply about, and was passionate, in her devotion, to nursing. Bud and Donna, owned and operated, a popular Winnipeg resort, the Oasis Beach, for many years.
After travelling to Vancouver Island, they fell in love, with the beauty, peace, and tranquility, of the sea. Bud and Donna moved to Mill Bay, on the Island, in 1976, where she continued nursing, at Cairnsmore Place, in Duncan. They lived life, to the fullest, on the Island, where they hosted, many visits, from family and friends. Donna was an excellent bridge player, and her flower gardens, were exquisite. She could describe every plant, and took great pleasure, in just puttering about, in her expansive yard. She was an avid reader, and took particular delight, in decorating her home. Donna was the centre of our family, and it is hard to imagine, life, without her.
Many thanks to the kind, and committed staff, at Acacia Ty Mawr, who brought smiles, and joy, to Donna, over the last few years.
A celebration of her life, will be held, in the summer, by the ocean, which she loved, so much. There will be "fancy cocktails ", and the melodic sounds, of her favourite music.
