Dora Lillian (Green) Burrow

April 20, 1924 - September 9, 2017

Our sweet little Mom passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side, at her home - Lodge on Fourth, Ladysmith - joining her husband, Harry (1999), parents and brother.

Dora was born in Calgary, where she enjoyed a happy childhood, making life-long friends. She later moved to Vancouver in her teens, and worked as a seamstress during her adult life, continuing to sew and knit for herself and her children and grandchildren.

After marrying Harry in 1947, she started her life as a D.F.O. wife in Prince Rupert, Bella Bella, Alert Bay, Victoria and Vancouver.

Throughout her life, Mom was involved with the Anglican Church and she and Harry enjoyed travelling, especially after retiring to Crofton.

She leaves behind sister, Betty Samson and family; children, Sue (Keith) Vickery, Campbell River, Pat (Duncan) Brown, Lake Cowichan, Peter Burrow (Tracy Lott), Vancouver; grandchildren, Meghan (Arron) Hoffman, Scott Brown, Emma Vickery (Donovan Jannaway), Natalie Brown, Cameron Brown (Caitilyn McNamara) and Avery Burrow, and six great-grandchildren.

Thank you for the wonderful care Mom received at both Stepples and the Lodge on Fourth.

Mom was comfortable with having people helping her, which made things simpler for her caregivers and family.

A Memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Anglican Church, Chemainus, BC, on October 21, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with a tea to follow.
