It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Stansfield (nee Parker) at her home in Fairbridge, Duncan, BC on Good Friday, April 10th, 2020.
Doris was predeceased by husband Garry Stansfield in 1991, brother Earl Parker, brother/sister-in-law Ron and Lorna Stansfield and nephew Terry Stansfield.
Born in Moose Jaw on February 21, 1930 and following their marriage in 1951, Doris and Garry moved to Regina where they resided for 34 years before retiring to Duncan, BC in 1986.
Doris was a member of Duncan United Church and the Seekers group of the church for 29 years and for 10 years was the wedding director of the Fairbridge Chapel. Besides being an eternal optimist, Mom loved CBC Radio, reading novels, was a gardener and knitter extraordinaire and pursued her many charities.
Survived by four children, Ron (Julie) of Sherbrooke NS, Laurie (Michael) of New Westminster BC, Dean (Sylvia) of Regina SK, Greg (Debbie) of Winnipeg MB. Five grandchildren Joanna (Neil) of Saskatoon SK, Ashleigh (William) of London UK, Allan of New Westminster BC, Christopher and Alexis of Winnipeg MB, 2 great grandchildren George and Fergus, and 5 nieces.
A Memorial will take place in Duncan at Duncan United Church in the future.
