In Loving Memory ~
Born at Kings Daughters Hospital on August 10, 1928, died Chemainus Health Care Centre on January 12, 2023 age 94.
Predeceased by husband Bob White on December 19, 1980, parents Easter Lily (Pearce) Wallace and Wally Wallace, siblings Norma, Myrtle, Mina and Doug.
She is survived by one brother Earl Wallace. Dorothy will be forever remembered by daughter Linda (Brian Cyr), grandson Dave (Sue) Baslee and great-grandsons Jeremy and Trent, and grandson Steve (Shanna) Baslee and great-granddaughters Ava and Sienna.
Dorothy met the love of her life, Bob White while they both worked at Island Farms Dairy in Port Alberni. The year 1950 saw them move to Victoria where their daughter was born, and Bob worked for Island Farms Dairy and Dorothy worked for The Bay and Woodward's for 36 years.
In 2005 she moved back to Duncan to live with her daughter and son-in-law until her health deteriorated and in 2018, she moved to Chemainus Health Care Centre where she thrived and made many friends, but family was always her first love.
Through good times and bad mom/nana was always there to help with a little extra advice or instructions on what you should do. From her yearly mother/daughter bus trips to Reno, to her weekly Bingo at the Senior Centre then once a week trip to the pub for lunch and a game of Keno she enjoyed life fully.
The family will miss our much-loved mom/nana but will take solace in her motto "Don't anyone cry when I die because I am not going till I'm ready".
Our everlasting thank you to the staff at Chemainus Health Care Centre for their care and compassion not only for mom but also for our family. As per her wishes, there will be no service but a celebration of life in the summer. No flowers by request, but a donation to a charity of your choice.
