February 2, 1942 - June 6, 2021
Elizabeth Ann Carpentier (aka Nannie) passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2021, with her family by her side. Ann was born in Port Alberni, BC, in 1942. She lived a good, rich life filled with much happiness and love.
In 1965, Ann and her husband Lawrence moved to Duncan, BC, where they raised their three children: Guy, Sally, and Stacy. From family to friends, the Carpentier home became one that many, over the years, would call a second home, as Ann's loving nature made all feel welcome.
Ann loved laughter and art - in all kinds of media. One of the greatest expressions of her art was to create the love found within the family home, and it is this love that will be missed by all of those that experienced it. We will continue to carry her love with us in our hearts.
Ann is survived by her husband, Lawrence Carpentier, her children and their partners: Guy and Carmen Carpentier, Sally Carpentier and Ian Whitehouse, Stacy and Jason Paton; her grandchildren and their partners: Natasha (Kaelan), Christina (Kane), Emilie (James), Addison (Brian), Nicholas, and Grace; and her great grandchild, Cashel.
The family is particularly grateful to Heather Buss and to Avenir Memory Care, in Nanaimo, BC, for the love and support given to not only Ann but also the family over these past few years and, more particularly, in the past few weeks of Ann's life.
In keeping with Ann's commitment to building a stronger, more compassionate community and providing for those in need, in lieu of flowers, please, if you wish, make a donation to the charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life is being planned. The date and location will be announced shortly.
