December 23, 1937 - July 28, 2019
Eileen is predeceased by her husband of 63 years Gordon on July 5, 2019. The family is in shock and sorrow that we lost Mom so soon after Dad. Survived by sons John (Tammy), Ron (Sherry), grandchildren Ryan, Scott, Kailee, Melissa, Nick and Randy, great grandchildren Lily, Jax, Aria, Kinzley and Oaklen. Sister Noralie, sister in-law Lila. Predeceased by brother Jack. Brother in-law Alan.
Mom was a very Strong, Independent and Stubborn woman. She wasn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and help out when needed, she would help Dad with the haying when he was starting to slow down, fix fences, herd cattle, cut and chop firewood, and do whatever was needed to keep the Ranch going. Eileen could be your best friend or your worst enemy. Mom would put on this rough and tough façade, but underneath it I'm sure, she loved her kids and her husband deeply. In the last few years, she focused on caring for Dad and wouldn't leave him alone for anything. He became her whole world and she, his. The Ranch was Dad's dream not hers, but she stuck with him and grew to love it as well.
Special thanks to Nancey Hadden and Bill Versluis for all you did to help Mom in the last few years. Thank you to Alaine Blackley a dear friend for many years. Thanks to all the staff at Fischer Place / Mill Site Lodge in 100 Mile House for all the care you gave her. We know she wasn't the easiest person to deal with and you all sure earned your wages, particularly Fern and Toni to name a few. Very Special Thank you to Dee And Gary Kurtenacker for letting Mom and Dad come home to the Ranch. So if you are ever out Highway 24 at Sheridan Lake area and think you hear voices in the wind, its just Eileen and Gordon arguing about something. Take comfort that they actually loved one another and are now eternally together.
