June 29, 1921 - April 1, 2022
Frank passed away peacefully on the evening of April 1, 2022 at the age of 100. He leaves behind his loving wife Vera; son Roger, step-daughter Sarah, stepson Michael, foster daughter Hae Sook, grandchildren: Keith, Simon, Bradley, Amahra and Christopher. Predeceased by his first wife Joyce, sisters: Alice and Nellie and brother Jack.
Frank was born in Nelson, Lancashire, England. On leaving school at age 14, the normal age back then, he had various jobs but enlisted in the RAF at the beginning of WWII and ended up a fighter pilot. At the end of the war, he went to college and became a teacher, and met and married his first wife Joyce. His brother Jack had emigrated to Ontario Canada in the early 1950's then he and Joyce, along with their son Roger, followed in 1954. To supplement his income as a teacher Frank got an extra part-time job with a company importing goods from the USA and through that he ended up full time as Managing Director of Amway Canada.
Sadly Joyce died in 1978 but Frank continued to work with Amway until the early 1980's then met and married Vera. Vera lived on Vancouver Island so he happily moved over to Duncan and enjoyed his retirement fishing, sailing, golf along with musical activities. He was a treasurer of Cowichan Musical Society for approximately 20 years and took part in all their musical productions as well. In his late 90's, he finally had to go into care and was able to spend his remaining time at Sunridge Place where Frank received kind and loving care from the staff.
A Celebration of Life in honour of Frank will be announced at a later date.
