Apr 24, 1929 - Nov 24, 2017
After succumbing to Parkinson's Disease, George passed away peacefully in care in Duncan, British Columbia.  He is survived by his wife Agatha, his three children Richard (Janice), Nancy, and Timothy, as well as his only grandchild, Theodore.

Growing up on a farm in McCreary, Manitoba, George was a nature lover at heart. He enjoyed going for drives in the country, camping in the woods, and bird-spotting. George was always planting something in his back yard and enjoyed the outdoors.

He taught school for fifty years - half in Manitoba and half in Nanaimo, at John Barsby Secondary.  George was a  loving husband to Agatha for over 64 years.

Music was the joy of his life. George taught choral music for years and was always active in church and community choirs and ensembles, both as a singer and a conductor. His musical experience included studying with W.H. Anderson in Winnipeg and singing with the Gospel Light Hour Quartet for fifteen years.  He gave all three of his children the gift of music lessons, and they are all musicians.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on March 13 in the Duncan United Church, 246 Ingram St., Duncan, BC.

George requested that there be no flowers, but instead that donations be made to the Gideons' Bible Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
