It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father George Ryzak, born in Glentworth, Saskatchewan on January 14, 1920. He is survived by his two sisters Anne Wise and Ethel Toop and six children Georgia (Niko), Randy (Linda), Daryl (deceased), Ian (Annie) Tanya and Tammy (Ron). He also has two step children Susan and Chris, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Dad was a real lover of nature, he would roam through the forests identifying with the fauna. He loved British Columbia and thought it was the greatest place to live.
He was a farmer, logger, boom man and carpenter. He had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest to the ripe old age of 97. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at Cerwydden for their dedication and exceptional care given to our father over the years. They treated him with compassion and respect and gave him a wonderful home in his final years.
A Celebration of George’s Life will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 1:00 at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre at 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC.
In lieu of flowers we would suggest a donation to the Senior Society at Cerwydden Care Home, 3243 Cowichan Lake Road, Duncan, BC V9L 4B8.
