George William Auger passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 15, 2018 with loving members of his family at his side.
Predeceased by his loving wife Joyce and son in law Hans. He was survived by his children, Graham (Lorraine), Roland (Penny), Bonnie (Hugh), Lori (Al), Sheryl, Ken (Diane), numerous grand and great-grandchildren and his faithful cat Tilley.
George was born in Manitoba and spent the better part of his life in British Columbia, settling in Lake Cowichan where he raised his family and worked in the logging industry as a Yarding Engineer.
George was a kind and gentle man who took great pride in family and was loved by all who knew him. George was a member for many years of the Kiwanis Club and Royal Canadian Legion and was a contributing member to the community. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He loved the game of crib, never turning down an opportunity to play. He truly was a master of the game and the banter that went along with it.
A celebration of life will be held at a date yet to be determined.
George will be sadly missed!!
