October 13, 1946 - February 1, 2019
After a brief struggle with cancer, Gerald Walker passed away in palliative care.

He was born in Deep River Ontario to Harold and Elizabeth Walker. At an early age the family moved to Victoria where Gerry graduated from Mount Doug in 1964.

In his twenties, he clearly demonstrated an entrepreneurial flair when he began Gerald Walker Transport. As president, he formed lifelong friendships with his employees, many owner operators and business associates in the industry. He was known to all as a true gentleman, and for his honesty and integrity.

A move to Cowichan Lake in the 90's brought much happiness both in lifestyle and the development of new friendships . As a proud grandpa he spent hours with his granddaughters boating, ATV-ing being the cameraman for the many skits or simply playing board games . He loved to entertain family and friends and enjoyed the many neighbourhood "Happy Hours". Gerry also had a love for Maui returning yearly as well as the extended trips he took in his "coach" to the Southern US. Gerry loved golf; if he wasn't playing golf he was watching it on TV. His daily visits into town to see friends and walk the dogs were a cherished routine.

Gerry will be sadly missed by Donna-Mai and Ray, granddaughters Gwen (Adam),Katrina (Jeremy), and his great granddaughter Eleanor. He is loved and will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, his extended family and many good friends and business associates.

In honour of his like, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 31st at the Firehall in Youbou from 2-4 pm. Please join us to share memories and stories with those who knew and loved him.
