Gladys was born in 1924 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1946 as a War Widow.

She is survived by her children Joan Gilkin, Dave Castle, Connie Wilson and Christine Steeves and numerous grandkids, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She leaves behind brother Sandy McKessar and sister Phylis Emslie in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, many nieces & nephews and family in Scotland.

Mum was always up for a challenge and very capable of anything she decided to do as a profession or hobby, a professional seamstress, business owner and an avid reader.

Her greatest love was gardening and building what she called (Shreddies) garden sheds. Anywhere she lived she put in flower gardens and there are many residences that still benefit from her expertise. She was quite a character in so may ways and loved a good cup of tea, or an occasional wee drammy of Scotch.

As we say goodbye Mum, we'll always remember you when we sit down for a cuppa Tetley Tea. Many thanks to her nurses on the 2nd floor of CDH and to Dr. Elliot.
