Gladys May Cudby

September 22, 2022

February 11, 1929 - September 22, 2022
In loving memory ~
Gladys was born to parents John and Anastasia Cooper. She grew up in Esquimalt and Sooke with four brothers and four sisters. She met our Dad, the love of her life, when she was 10 years old. They were married in 1946 just one month after her 17th birthday.
They were married for 72 years. They had a wonderful life together raising four children. Mom was a homemaker who excelled in the role. She loved to knit and crochet and brought home many blues ribbons from the Cowichan Exhibition. She made the best pies and Sunday roast beef dinners complete with yorkshire pudding. She was an avid reader and loved to garden. She had a green thumb and could grow anything and her garden was filled with beautiful hydrangeas.
Her and Dad travelled to many places in their retirement, including Hawaii, Palm Desert, New Zealand, Alaska and Newfoundland and they loved to go camping with family and friends.
Family was everything to Mom, she did so much for all of us and tried her very best not to let anyone down.
She loved animals and while she owned many she was always helping one in need. Mom was full of life and loved to laugh and have a good time.
Survived by her son Richard (Laurel), daughter Peggy (Rick), daughter Cathy, daughter Maureen (Glen), 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Predeceased by husband Seymour, granddaughter Amy and twin boys Steven and Donald.
Thanks for everything you have taught us Mom, you will be sorely missed. Together with Dad again at last. Thank you to Dr Chen and the staff at Sunridge Place for their kind and compassionate care. No service by request.
