In Loving Memory ~
The family of Gordon Unrau are saddened to announce his passing. Gordon passed peacefully in the arms of his wife, Loretta.
He is survived by his wife of 64 yrs. Loretta, sons Randy (Shandel), Stewart (Crystal), 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brothers Lylod (Sharon) and Victor (Suzanne).
He is predeceased by his parents Anne and John Unrau.
Gordon was born on a farm in Saskatchewan. At the age of 2 they moved to Pitt Meadows, he continued to live in the area until moving to the Island in 1989.
Gordon spent his career on the water, starting on the Tugboats towing on local and coastal waters acquiring his captains license, then transferred to B.C. Ferries, working on interior and coastal runs.
Gordon was an avid hunter and fisherman. His interests expanded to making jewelry, knife handles and fishing rods but his greatest skill was wood turning. His amazing bowls, platters and ornaments are beautiful pieces of art.
