It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory McCallum, a long-time citizen of Lake Cowichan. He was born in Vancouver, the 4th son of 7 children to Donald and Claire McCallum. In his younger years Greg had a natural talent for music and loved to play the drums. He also loved old-time music and could often be heard humming a catchy tune. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he enjoyed working on cars with Donavan and spent many hours volunteering at the Seniors Centre, going out of his way to play a big part in the community. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandson, especially watching his grandson play hockey.
Greg was predeceased by his son Brett, brother Scott (Olena) and both parents. He is survived by his children Chris, Jeremy and Marissa, their mother Caroline, along with grandson Landen, long- time partner Leah, her daughters Brittney and Tayler and siblings Bruce (Faye), Steve (Linda), Doug (Nancy), Grant (Joe), Leanne and their families.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17th at 1:00 pm at the Lake Cowichan Seniors Centre in Lake Cowichan.
