It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gwen Swan on July 11, 2024, at the age of 77. Gwen was born in Ocean Falls, BC, on April 2, 1947. She spent her later years in Chemainus, where she dedicated her life to helping children as a teacher's aide.
Gwen was an avid historian with a particular passion for collecting memorabilia from her beloved hometown of Ocean Falls. She cherished her roots and took great pride in preserving the rich history of the place she grew up.
Gwen is survived by her loving family: daughter Barbara Daly, son Kelly Swan, her two brothers: Dave and Terry Owen as well as her son-in-law Darren Daly, and her cherished grandsons: Bradley and Devin Daly.
Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate Gwen's Life will be held at 1:00 pm, on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Sands Funeral Chapel, located at 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC. Friends, family, and all who knew Gwen are invited to come together to honour her memory.
In lieu of flowers, Gwen has asked that you plant flowers in her memory.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
