Harold was born in Edmonton, Alberta. He moved to Duncan in 1944 and was raised by his grandparents George and Edith Bristow. He spent the rest of his life in the Cowichan Valley.

George is survived by his wife of 30 years Carol, Sons; Todd (Telma), Dean, and his daughter Rhonda, Stepchildren; Lori, Jim (Gina) and Bill (Kim), Grandchildren; Brandon (Bella), Andrea and Naomi, Step Grandchildren; Jeanine (Jeff), Erin (Craig) and Kimberley, and Great great grandchildren; Josiah, Daiylnn, Kendall and Eli.

George started working different jobs at the age of 15, eventually driving logging trucks. He was employed by Hearseys, Arrow and then Domans where he retired in 2001. Lover of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, His favorite place was Butch’s Marina at Port Renfrew. He was a longtime member of the Cowichan Bee Keepers and was known all over for his honey, his fantastic vegetable gardens and his love of cooking.

He will be missed by many. Memorial Tea to be held at H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre, 5285 Polkey Road, Duncan, BC, on February 18th at 2:00 PM
