It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Harold Robson (Rob) Gent on May 19, 2025, at the age of 84. Born and raised in Victoria, B.C., it is there that Dad met the love of his life, Lorraine. Predeceased by her on June 29, 2018 he is survived by his 3 children, Richard, Trevor (Debbie) and Darcy (Kim). He will be remembered by his grandchildren Brandon, Tisha, Kimberley, Cody, Owen and Erika. Dad also leaves behind his sisters Elaine, Fran and brother Greg.
Dad was a well known figure from his years running Cowichan Grocery and the Lotto booth in Superstore. He was known for his hard work, friendliness and warm smile wherever he went. His passion was country music and line dancing. With his extensive library of music (both types 'Country and Western'), he would DJ at many events. A talented line dance instructor, Dad shared his love for it through teaching and performing. He was a proud member of the Cross Country Dancers, where he met many great people and cherished friends.
Dad will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
