Helen is survived by her partner of 22 years,
Chris Benson, her children, David, Kate and Barbara, her grandchildren Justin (Jenny), Simon (Courtney) Stuart, Dan (Krystal) and her great grandchildren Jacob and Sophia.
Born in Saskatchewan and grew up in the Comox Valley. She raised her three children while living in Victoria and Vancouver and eventually settled in Cobble Hill in 1989. She enjoyed travelling and was an avid camper, enjoying the outdoors. After moving to Cobble Hill, she began her passion for volunteering where she spent time at Providence Farm working in the gardens, creating friendships, and helping others. In her later years, she continued her volunteer work being heavily involved at the Mill Bay food bank, and her countless hours spent with Wysag.
Her true passion was her family and her garden where she spent countless hours a day creating the landscape around her home. In life she was known for her green thumb, knitting, and her love of a good card game but her legacy will live on in the lives of her family. She shall be greatly missed and loved by all.
