CROFT, Helen (Sheila) entered into rest on Saturday morning, October 29, 2016 at Douglas Care Community (Trillium). She passed peacefully in her sleep. Helen was born on July 16, 1916 to Percival and Mary Gilbert in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They later moved to Haney, BC. Helen was one of the first women to serve in the Canadian Navy during WWII. Following the war, she met and married Carey Croft on February 14, 1948. In October 1949, they had their only child, Warren. Helen enjoyed playing the piano, reading, gardening and bird watching. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Croft and her only brother, Richard Gilbert. Surviving her are her son, Warren and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Croft of Turlock, California.
