Helen "Eunice" Marie Buchanan passed at the Yucalta Lodge Hospice in Campbell River, BC, January 2, 2019. Eunice was born Dec 5, 1950 in Duncan, BC, The daughter of Helen Delores Schutte. Mom leaves behind a dysfunctional family that she was very proud of!
Mom was world renowned for her lack of patience, no holding back her opinion (particularly when it came to politics) and a knack for telling it like it is. She always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear.
With that said, she was genuine to a fault, a pussy cat at heart (or lion), she sugar coated nothing. Her vocabulary was extensive; she was highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime. She liked her four letter words as much as she loved her beer!
Everyone always knew where you stood with her. She liked you or she didn't, it was black or white. As her child I am still trying to figure out which one it was for me (I know she loved me).
Mom was a queen in the kitchen, Sunday dinner consisted of roast beef, mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding with a healthy side of gravy to smother on all of the above! We all loved your Sunday dinners Mama xo
She is predeceased by her oldest child Stephen Allan (1973) and her second oldest child Darren Lawrence Desrochers (2009), along with her mother and father and many family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Dave Buchanan, as well as her youngest child Tina Marie, her grandson Joshua (Sugarplum) and granddaughter Jordyn (Princess), her step children Darrell, Toni and Bonnie and her seven loving siblings along with numerous nieces and nephews.
