October 5, 1927 - January 5, 2021
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Madame Helene Monique Louise Germaine Spence at Cairnsmore Place in Duncan, BC. She passed peacefully at 9:30 pm on January 5, 2021 at 93 years of age.
Born in Paris, France she saw many changes to her beloved country and even though she moved to Canada and proudly became a Canadian Citizen in 1969, she always remained a "true Parisian" at heart - "Vive La France".
Helene married Harry James Spence on September 2, 1958 and remained happily married until his passing. Helene is survived by daughters Beatrix Kash, Colleen Tomlin, sons Kevin Spence, Terry Spence, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mom was a devoted mother who adored her children deeply and there was not a day that went by that she would not show or express it.
We thank you mom for all the laughter, patience and love you gave us. Until we meet again Mom....
Due to the Covid pandemic we will have no "Celebration of her life" but will organize one at a later date.
The family would like to express our gratitude to all the staff at Cairnsmore Place for the compassion, love, friendships, and professionalism shown to our mother and ourselves.
