Born in Port Alberni, raised in Duncan, BC, Herbert passed away at home surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife Peggy of 53 years as well as his son Murray, daughter Cheryl (Darren) Jordan, sister Gail (Tom) Hewitt, brother-in-law Stewart Murray as well as several nephews and a niece, great nephews and a great niece.
He retired after 35 years in the Royal Canadian Navy as CP02. He travelled the world, loved boating, building boats, especially Just Rite.
Herbie also loved hunting, camping with his buddies (you know who you are) and playing guitar.
Thank you to Dr. Terlien, Cowichan District Hospital Chemotherapy Unit and his nephew Jason.
He put up a brave battle until the end.
