In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that the family of Hugh Henry announces his recent passing.
Hugh is survived by his sister, Beth Conway (Wayne), his brothers, Guy Henry (Joan) and Tom Henry (Violaine) as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Joy Henry and his brother, Paul Henry.
Born in Chatham, On, Hugh moved with his family to Duncan in 1957. They later relocated to Dawson Creek where Hugh attended high school. Returning to the Island in 1969, Hugh began his working life as a chef at Mr. Mikes in Duncan.
In the early 1980s he became office manager for his brother Guy at Raincoast Cedar Products in Chemainus. He went on to Paulcan Enterprises Ltd. where he remained until the end of his life. Hugh had a close relationship with his employers, Paul Beltgens and Louise Beltgens. In particular, Louise Beltgens has been a constant and caring friend. Thank you, both.
Hugh enjoyed a very close bond with his parents, Bill & Joy Henry. Over the years, the adventurous trio enjoyed many happy road trips exploring parts of BC. Upon Joy's passing, Hugh became a strong support for his father, Bill. Truly kindred spirits, Bill and Hugh provided friendship and support for each other for many years.
We remember Hugh for his sense of humour, his booming laughter and his love of music, especially The Beatles. He was a great favourite with his nieces and nephews. It was always lots of fun when Uncle Hugh was around.
Particularly important to Hugh were the close relationships he enjoyed with Guy and Joan Henry and Stephen and Virginia Conway.
Love from your family,
Rest in Peace, Hugh
