January 24, 1959 - May 25, 2021
The family of Ian Ritchie is deeply saddened by his sudden passing on May 25, 2021. Ian is mourned by loving wife, Margaret (Symon) and sons Arran, Alasdair and Gordon; brother Fraser and mother-in-law Elizabeth Symon. He was predeceased by son Gavin in 2008.
Ian devoted his life to community. After a policing career including 22 years with Saanich Police Department, Ian "retired" to drive school bus for Shawnigan Lake School and School District 79.
Ian was extremely proud to have ridden in the 2005 Cops For Cancer Tour de Rock and kept up cycling as well as interest in travel and sports.
Ian made long-lasting friendships and will be deeply missed.
