Mom passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her granddaughter Kim. Predeceased by her husband Frank (1986) and her daughter Sylvia (2010). Survived by her sons Fred (Shirley) and Barry (Jo-Ann) and son-in-law Walter Upper. Also seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandsons.
Mom immigrated to Canada from Denmark at the age of 2 and half. Their first home was a tent on the North Saskatchewan River. Later moving to Prince Albert area. Then moved to Victoria at the age of 16 and worked as a maid. Then in 1943 she enlisted in the Canadian Women's Army Corps in Camp Dundurn Sask. for 8 weeks of training. She served in Victoria until the end of the war, where she meet her beloved husband Frank.
She loved sewing and was a beautiful knitter and floral arranger. Loved getting her hair done and always dressed so nicely. Loved the color blue. She had a great sense of humor and most of all she loved all of her family very much. She shall be missed. Special thanks to the Veterans, Kiwanis Club (Ron and Brian) and all the staff at Cairnsmore for caring for her. Love you Mom, rest in peace.
