November 20, 1931 - January 1, 2021
Amidst her loving family, Inge passed away peacefully at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on New Years Day in her 89th year.
Born in Vienna Austria, she was the youngest of 4 daughters to Franz Hofer and Anna Faustenhammer Hofer. After enduring the occupation and liberation of Vienna during WW2, Inge left to England in 1955 where she started her Nursing career and opened a Bed and Breakfast.
Travelling to the United States, she met Dr. Clint Chatton and in 1962 Clint and Inge headed to Las Vegas and were married. In 1964 the family moved to Clint's hometown of Victoria and soon set roots in Shawnigan Lake where she loved to garden and enjoy the serenity.
Inge returned to the workforce and back to nursing, returning to Victoria. In retirement, she continued her love for people by volunteering at the Hospital and Recreation Centres. Moving to Berwick House, she loved the social atmosphere and was active in the many outings, performances and events reminding her of the days of past at the Edelweiss Club, or the Country Clubs Inge and Clint frequented.
Inge will be greatly missed by her son Robert (Marisol), step sons Tim (Albina) and Terry, step daughter in law Linda, her 2 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren. Inge was predeceased by her husband Clint, step son Steven and her sisters Rosi, Resi and Anna.
The family thanks the Doctors, Nurses and staff of 8 south at RJH for their professionalism, compassion, guidance and care during Moms brief time there.
No service by request. In place, Inge wanted her family, friends and acquaintances to remember your friendships and reminisce of the good times you and her shared.
Cremation with internment next to her husband at Ross Bay Cemetery.
Though death may do us part, we are together again.
