July 2, 1931 - July 1, 2018
Jacquie passed away July 1st with her family by her side at Victoria General. She leaves behind her 2 sons Doug (Sandy), Cam (Cheryl) and very special granddaughter Lauren.
She grew up in the Peace River area and after high school Jacquie moved to Victoria and enrolled in the nursing program. She graduated nursing school in 1954 with a group of classmates that had a very close bond and a special friendship that still exists today. In 1955 she married Rolly and continued her nursing career at the Jubilee Hospital.
In 1969 Jacquie and Rolly bought the Galley coffee shop in Shawnigan Lake and ran it until their retirement. After retiring they spent the winters down south in their motorhome. With Rolly passing she stayed in Shawnigan until recently, when she moved to West Shore Lodge in Colwood where she made many new friends.
The family would like to send a special thanks to her sisters Brenda Langevin and Belinda Layfield, her niece Bobbie Friss and husband Dick, who were always there for her. As well a special thanks to the nursing staff on the 6th floor that made her comfortable in her final days.
Celebration of life will be held at Arbutus Ridge Golf Course, Sunday, July 15th at 1 pm.
