In Loving Memory ~
On June 15, 2024, 67 years young, Jimmy, passed away peacefully at Cowichan Hospice, with family by his side after a courageous battle with Cancer.
Born on May 20, 1957, in Vancouver, BC, Jimmy was a true islander, spending most of his years in the Cowichan Valley.
In 1989, Jimmy moved his young family from Cowichan Station to Crofton where they purchased their first home. He took great pride in this home of 35 years, especially his garden as he had quite the green thumb.
Jimmy loved spending time with loved ones, family, friends, and his pets, and deeply cherished those connections. He was known for his love of adventure, the outdoors and great music. He loved fishing, hiking, camping, and off-roading in his Baja Beetle. He enjoyed road trips over air travel because it was never about the destination, always the journey.
Jimmy will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters: Jennifer (Michael) of Victoria and Patricia (Bryan) of Red Deer, AB; seven grandchildren: Dominic, Paige, Evangeline, Marcus, Levi, Greydon, and Dane.
Also left to cherish Jimmy's memory are his brother Mitchell (Julie), sister Tracey (Brad), several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous other family and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother Marlene, father Charles, and brother Wade.
We would like to give special thanks to the caregivers of Cowichan Hospice, Tracey, and several close friends for caring for Jimmy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1 pm in the reception building behind the Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road, Duncan, BC.
