Janet Elizabeth Bonar (nee Thompson)

February 3, 1920 - June 15, 2019
Janet Elizabeth Bonar (nee Thompson), surrounded by love, passed away June 15, 2019 at her home in Duncan, BC.Jenny was predeceased by her husband Cecil, and her siblings Bill, Mary, Joe, Florence, Mabel and Terry. Jenny leaves behind her sister Hazel, her son Daniel (Pat) Banner and family, her daughter Gaynor (Wilf) Brotchie and family, and her partner in crime Donna (Wayne) Relke and family.
Jenny was born February 3,1920 in Southey, Saskatchewan. She married her love, Cecil in 1945. After having their two adorable children they settled in Glenora (3599 Glenora Rd).
Jenny was one of the most warm hearted and giving people you could meet. She could often be found at the Legion, volunteering, playing crib, and enjoying a refreshment or two. She loved gambling in Reno, and if she was unable to be there, you could find her playing cards pretty much anywhere, gladly taking your money. She enjoyed her walking club, coffee row and the OAP. Jenny lived everyday to the fullest and with a smile!
We would like to thank Dr. Gilbert, and all the loving staff at Cairnsmore Place for the excellent care of our mother, grandmother, and friend. A tea to celebrate Jenny's 99 years will be held on July 7th from 2-4 pm at the Valley Senior Center, (OAP),198 Government St. Duncan, BC.
