August 4, 1933 - August 7, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce Jarnail Singh Kang passed away surrounded by family on August 7, 2021, nearly 20 years to the day after the loss of his loving wife of 50 years, Ajit Kaur Kang.
Jarnail was born August 4, 1933 in Dhahan, Punjab, the youngest of 6 children and only son to Ujjagar Singh and Balwant Kaur Kang. His life took him many places, from California, to England, and finally to Canada where he settled in 1970.
Jarnail will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and selflessness. He is irreplaceable and his loss will be deeply felt by his sister Gurdev Kaur (Balwant Singh) Randhawa, sons Manjit (Mieke) and Karmjit (Jaswant), daughters Sujinder (Namraj) and Harpreet (Anant), his 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sisters, Swarn Kaur (Kashmir Singh) Thandi, Surjit Kaur, Avtar Kaur (Anant Singh) Bains, Gurdial Kaur (Kuldip Singh) Sahota and Amrit Kaur (Kuldip Singh) Purewal.
Despite our overwhelming sadness, we are comforted in knowing that he is at peace with his beloved wife. Their lives were a blessing and will continue to inspire generations to come.
We would like to thank Dr. Mark Sanders and all the caring staff at Cairnsmore Place for looking after him in his final days.
A memorial will be held at the H.W. Wallace Cremation and Burial Centre in Duncan, BC, on August 14, 2021, with doors opening at 10:30 am and the memorial starting at 11:30 am, followed by a service at the Duncan Sikh Temple.
