Jennifer Lelonde of Duncan, beloved partner of Mr. Chris Cooper, passed away peacefully at the Cowichan Hospice House on November 20, 2020 at the age of 67 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Chris Heslop (Breanne), Lisa Sandberg (Leon), Terri Gray-Tataryn (Dale), Shannon Parkes (Flint), Shawna Cooper (stepdaughter), Ryan Lelonde (stepson); eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She will also be dearly missed by her mother Ethel Whittaker, brother Ian Mitchell (Pam), sister Susan Camplair (Jock) as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Jennifer was predeceased by daughter Donna Heslop, father Thomas Mitchell and brothers: Tommy and Grant Mitchell.
Jennifer (Jenn) was loved by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up a room. She was always selfless, and thinking of others. Numerous other "kids" called her mom because of her kind and motherly nature.
She loved to spend time with her spouse Coop, her two dogs, and numerous friends and family.
Jenn was diagnosed with ALS in May of 2019. She fought hard against the many challenges of the disease, but it never dampened her positive spirit and laughter. She handled it with grace and dignity.
Many thanks to the support shown through the ALS society and the Cowichan Hospice House, and the many doctors and nurses who cared for her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the ALS society at www.alsbc.ca and/or the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society at cowichanhospice.org.
