It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jessie Kay at the age of 92, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her Daughter Darlene (Ted Ingham), Grandchildren Darin (Natalie Ingham), Carly (Kevin Shillito), Jason (Chelsea Kay), Danielle Kay (Brent Heyd), Great Grandchildren Rylan, Talan, Maylee, Weston, Linden, Tyson & Madison. Brothers: Vic (Anne), Steve (Bernice), Don (Marion), Sisters: Margaret (Mike), Lorraine (Tom) & many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Louis, son Jerry, brother John, sisters Anne, Pauline, Jean, Helen and Elizabeth.

Jessie was born in Mountain Road, Manitoba and moved to B.C. in 1948  and married Louis in 1951 where they raised two children in the Cowichan Valley.  Mom worked at the King's Daughter Hospital and then changed careers and worked at the Duncan Forest Nursery for 30 years. She loved gardening and spending time with family always making sure  they were well fed, she was a great Ukrainian cook.

There are not enough words to describe how caring and selfless Mom was throughout her entire life, & her imprint on her family and friends will be remembered and passed  down for generations. We would like to thank the staff at Cerwydden Care for all your love & special care over the past few years. No service by request.

There will be a family gathering at a later date to embrace, share stories and celebrate the beautiful life of a very special woman.
