November 16, 1921 - August 19, 2018
Jessie was born on the farm in Dauphin, MB and raised there with much love from the large Nicholson family. She often spoke fondly of her time there with many close cousins and sister Eldeena.

After schooling in Winnipeg, she married Reg in 1945 and made a home in Flin Flon for 32 years where they raised four sons. Jessie worked in the public library, was a giving volunteer at St. Luke's United Church and spent many years as a CGIT leader.

She was predeceased by husband Reg (1979); sons: Donald (2005), and Gordon (2016). She is survived by sons: Eric (Doreen) from Winnipeg, David (Judy) from Duncan, daughters-in-law Jolee from Dauphin and Sharon from Langley. Jessie also cherished her twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

After retiring to the Island in 1977, Jessie volunteered as a swimming assistant for the disabled at Juan de Fuca. She was a library assistant at Discovery School in Shawnigan Lake where she hosted a reading program.

After moving to Duncan, Jessie helped as a walker at the Duncan Manor. She enjoyed her years as a member of the Tzouhalem Weavers, was an avid reader, and a whiz at crosswords. She was known in all her neighbourhoods for her "Gramma Cookies".

Thank you to Dr. Harris and Dr. Reynolds for their care and to the staff and friends at Acacia Ty Mawr for their constant, loving compassion during her time there and her struggle with dementia.

There is no service planned at this time. Jessie gave generously to charity and in lieu of flowers, please donate to her favourite - BCSPCA.

Condolences may be offered online at www.sandsduncan.ca.
