It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Jim Neiser.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Art & Lorraine Neiser, and will be lovingly remembered by his sister Janice, nieces Jennifer (Dave) and Danielle (Matt) and great nephew/nieces Morgan, Hayden and Harlow.
Jim was a long-time resident of the Lake Cowichan area. He worked for years as a faller and retired from that career to run the family business, Neiser Sales.
"Oncle" loved hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin in the Chilcotin. He enjoyed spending time with friends, and delivering them everything from his homemade sausage and freshly canned salmon to truck-loads of firewood.
He loved his visits with "Mo" and "Red & Black", and they will miss the treats he always brought them. Jim, who was an animal lover, raised several black labs as hunting partners over the years, fed every hummingbird in Honeymoon Bay, and befriended a bald eagle who would follow him home from Port Renfrew on Sundays to wait patiently for the fish scraps and chicken he would feed her.
Jim was a hard working and honest man, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be planned when we're able to gather.
