It is with sadness that we announce the passing of this wonderful lady on January 12th, 2018.
Joan is now reunited with her beloved husband (and high school sweetheart) Bill. She is fondly and lovingly remembered by her children Sharon (Rich), Bill (Deb) and Judi (Jeff), 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Joan and Bill were married in 1949 and began their lives together as a military family with postings to Ottawa, Cold Lake, Zweibrucken, Trenton and Esquimalt, choosing to live in Mill Bay for the years of Bill's final posting where they built their home.
Joan and Bill enjoyed many years scouring garage sales. Country Music was one of Joan's passions and in particular she enjoyed the music of Dwight Yoakam. Joan enjoyed 35 years of service to the Lake Bay Hill Hospital Auxiliary, along with a term on the Board of Directors of the Cowichan District Hospital.
Joan is descended from the pioneering Clarke family from Hillier and the pioneering Luff family from Qualicum Beach.

A Celebration of Life Tea will be hosted at the home of Bill and Deb on January 27th, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at 816 Malone Road, Ladysmith, BC.
